There have been a number of emails coming in regarding going in to set up classrooms for ECE and attending staff meetings by all the groups. There is no paid time for this for any CUPE member. You must speak to your administrator prior to attending the meeting or going into the school to prepare for the first day back and get clarifications as to whether lieu time would be given, do not just assume it will be because it has happened in the past. CUPE does not encourage attending meetings or going into work without being paid, but that is obviously your decision to make. We will never get paid for something we are willing to do for free.
The OSBCC has reached a tentative settlement on remedy, followinglast year’s ruling in our favour that Bill 115 violated our rights.
Members who are eligible to vote on the proposed settlement are those who were covered by a CUPE school board collective agreement between September 1st, 2012 and August 31st, 2014.
This vote will be a simple majority (50% plus one) of eligible voters who vote.
Details of the settlement will be shared at the meeting.
The SULP days for the 2017/2018 school year we will designated as the following PA days: Nov 24 and May 18. Please submit your Request to be Absent forms in by August 31.
