CUPE 1479 would like to invite you all to attend a virtual presentation focused on strengthening parent outreach and building a collective voice in support of properly funded education in Ontario.
As many of you are aware, ongoing concerns about underfunding are affecting classrooms, resources, and student supports across our schools. This session will focus on:
- Discussion of current statistics and concerns, and we’ll hear from a parent speaker about her experience
- Creating meaningful opportunities for parents to share their experiences and concerns
- Building stronger engagement between school councils and families
- Identifying clear, constructive ways to advocate for proper education funding
- Developing a coordinated approach to amplify parent voices at the local and provincial levels
Our goal is to work collaboratively to ensure parents feel informed, empowered, and connected — and to explore how we can build broader parent support to advocate effectively for our students.
We will deliver a short presentation, ask a few questions, and we welcome input from parent council members as well as interested parents in your school communities.
