A motion was passed at the General Membership meeting in 2022 to hold a lottery each year for children of CUPE 1479 parents who were graduating in the 2022-2023 school year and going to college, university or a certified trade in 2023-2024.
There are four (4) $500 post-secondary bursary awards for a child/children of a CUPE Local 1479 member who has graduated from one of the following high schools (list outlined below) during the 2023-2024 school year and attending a post-secondary this fall.
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
· The child must have graduated from high school during the 2023-2024 school year
· The child must have accepted an offer from a community college, university, or certified trade apprenticeship program for the 2024-2025 school year.
· The person nominated must be the child of a CUPE Local 1479 member in good standing
· Have the completed google form in and complete by June 15th by 3pm to lizjames@cupe1479.com and will do the draw live on a spin app
Member must give the applicable high school and CUPE 1479 executive permission to confirm the graduation and proof of expectance to the post secondary program that they are attending.
Winners names and schools will be posted on our website.
